Are you an experienced leader within Children’s Social Care who is passionate about making a lasting difference for children in care and care experienced young people? As Service Manager, Children in Care, you will join a committed senior leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping services that deliver stability, permanence and positive outcomes for some of the most vulnerable children and young people.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Service Manager, Children in Care to lead high-performing teams, influence service development and drive practice improvement across a forward-thinking Children’s Service. Reporting directly to the Principal Service Lead, you will have the opportunity to make an immediate impact while supporting a workforce that is ambitious for every child.

Your Role as Service Manager, Children in Care

• Lead and provide management oversight across Children in Care services and Team Managers
• Drive practice improvement, performance management and high-quality service delivery
• Champion permanence planning, stability and positive outcomes for children and young people
• Lead on quality assurance, service development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Build strong partnerships across social care, education, health and wider agencies

Your Previous Experience as Service Manager, Children in Care

• Significant leadership experience within Children’s Social Care Services
• Proven track record of delivering service improvement and positive outcomes for children in care
• Strong experience managing performance, quality assurance and complex operational challenges
• Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
• Ability to inspire, motivate and support high-performing teams through change and challenge
