Summary of the Role:
We are seeking an interim Service Manager for Children’s Social Care, specialising in Edge of Care services. This role is crucial in promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people across the borough, aged 11 plus.

About the Role:

• Lead a new service created specifically for Edge of Care within the council.
• Provide oversight of management and social workers, ensuring alignment with the high standards of the new service.
• Develop and implement strategies to prevent young people from entering care.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to provide comprehensive support to families.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of Edge of Care services.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively to deliver value for money services.

Your Experience:

• Degree level education and qualified, registered social worker.
• Ability to manage high-level risk and decision-making, with a focus on Edge of Care services.
• Strong senior background in services such as fostering, adoption, placements, CIN (Children in Need), CP (Child Protection), Court, and Proceedings.
• Proven track record in developing and implementing service improvement initiatives.
• Experience in multi-agency working and partnership development.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to analyse data and use it to inform service delivery.
