This is a standout opportunity to step into a highly influential Senior Public Health Analyst (Public Health Intelligence) role where your work will directly shape strategic decision‑making and improve population health outcomes. Reporting into senior public health leadership, you will take ownership of the Public Health Intelligence function, leading a small specialist team and setting the direction for how insight, evidence and data are used across the system.
You will be trusted with sensitive, high‑impact datasets, accountable for flagship intelligence products such as the JSNA, and central to translating complex analysis into real‑world action. Your role as Senior Public Health Analyst:

  • Lead the Public Health Intelligence function, setting strategic direction and standards
    • Deliver high‑profile intelligence products including JSNA, needs assessments and evaluations
    • Turn complex data into clear, actionable insight for senior and non‑technical stakeholders
    • Champion data governance, quality and information security across all intelligence activity
    • Line manage, mentor and develop analysts and practitioners, building system‑wide capability

You will work confidently across organisational boundaries, influencing partners and senior leaders, and representing the public health intelligence voice in regional and system forums. Your leadership will ensure evidence is not just produced but actively used.

Your previous experience as a Senior Public Health Analyst:

  • Significant experience in public health intelligence, analysis or epidemiology
    • Advanced knowledge of statistical methods, large health datasets and data modelling
    • Proven ability to lead projects, programmes and people in complex environments
    • Strong background in data governance, GDPR and information management
    • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of impactful reporting and insight
