Senior Construction Project Manager
South West – Hybrid with site visits
6-Month Interim Contract
£450-£500 per day (Inside IR35)

A Local Authority in the South West is looking for an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to lead two major capital projects:

1. Cemetery Expansion – currently at construction tender stage, with works due to start Spring 2026
2. Cremator Replacement – at concept design stage, working on a joint-venture project to develop the full business case

This is a client-side role managing scope, budget, stakeholder engagement, and governance across both projects. You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and external partners to ensure successful delivery.
Key responsibilities:

• Manage scope, budget, programme, and stakeholder engagement
• Lead procurement, contract awards, and internal reporting
• Oversee health and safety, planning interfaces, and governance documentation
• Represent the council in commercial relationships and statutory processes

Essential experience:

• Proven client-side construction project management within a Local Authority
• Experience working on Cemetery Expansion or Replacement Projects
• Strong understanding of planning, tendering, infrastructure, and public sector delivery
• Skilled in stakeholder management, reporting, and governance
