My Client in the Northwest is looking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Officer on a 6-month Interim basis to support the team to coordinate outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs. You will be responsible for the provision of a caseload of children with SEN in accordance with their Educational Health Care (EHC) plans. Also dealing with transfers from statements.
 
Essential Skills & Abilities 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislation relating to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities 0-25.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recent developments in the field of Inclusion/Exclusion, and the education landscape and context.
  • Knowledge and experience of analysing data to contribute to wider improvement agenda.

Job Role

  • Contribute to the day-to-day function of the Assessment and Review Service
  • Must hold experience of drafting plans/plan amendments and in particular annual reviews
  • Work allocated case-load and manage accordingly
  • Managing workflow, co-production of parent’s expert knowledge of best practice
  • Draft new assessments and attend annual review meetings where appropriate
