Job Title: SEN Tribunal Lead

Location: Hybrid- South Coast

Salary: £400-£430 per day inside IR35

Contract Type: 4 months

During on going permanent recruitment a busy LA seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Tribunal Lead to join and increase capacity with their SEN service. This is a pivotal role where you will lead the management of statutory responsibilities relating to SEND Tribunals, mediations, and appeals, ensuring the Local Authority meets its legal obligations and delivers positive outcomes for children and young people.

As SEN Tribunal Lead, you will:

  • Lead and manage all aspects of SEN Tribunal cases, formal disagreements, and transport appeals.
  • Represent the Local Authority in SEND Tribunals and mediations, preparing robust evidence and liaising with Legal Services and multi-agency partners.
  • Provide strategic advice to reduce tribunal cases and influence policy and protocol development.
  • Support the SEN Team with training needs identified through tribunal outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families, professionals, and support agencies to resolve complex cases and promote joint working.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience managing SEND casework, tribunals, or legal representation.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth understanding of SEN legislation, including the Education Acts and SEN Code of Practice.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and complex cases with professionalism and empathy.
  • Experience working collaboratively across services and with external stakeholders.
