This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely autonomous leadership role where you will build something meaningful from the ground up for a newly opened Children’s Residential provision. As Residential Children’s Homes Manager, you will take full ownership of a brand-new multi-home service, recruiting and shaping your own team and setting the standard for outstanding, child-centred care.

You will have responsibility for multiple homes, a significant operational budget and direct accountability for quality, compliance and outcomes for children with complex needs. If you are driven by impact, quality and doing the right thing for children, this is a role that will truly challenge and reward you.

You will be accountable for the day-to-day and strategic leadership of two registered children’s homes, ensuring they operate safely, compliantly and with warmth, stability and ambition for every child. This role offers the chance to influence culture from day one and embed a therapeutic approach that runs through every aspect of practice, leadership and decision-making.

Your role as Residential Children’s Homes Manager:
  • Full operational leadership of multiple children’s homes, including Ofsted registration and compliance
  • Recruitment, development and motivation of a skilled, values-led residential care workforce
  • Budget ownership and financial accountability, ensuring high-quality provision within agreed resources
  • Embedding a therapeutic practice model across care, leadership and daily routines
  • Partnership working with corporate parenting services and key professionals to deliver holistic, planned care
Your experience as a Residential Children’s Homes Manager:
  • Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Proven registered management experience within a children’s residential setting
  • Strong track record of quality improvement, inspection readiness and regulatory compliance
  • Confident change leadership, supporting teams through growth, transition and service development
  • Child-focused, values-driven approach with the resilience to manage complex and high-risk situations

This is a pivotal appointment with real influence. You will shape services that keep children closer to the people, places and communities that matter most to them, while building sustainable, high-quality homes that staff are proud to work in.
