We currently have a fantastic opportunity to embark on an exciting journey setting up 3 children’s residential homes for a local authority in North Somerset. The homes will provide short to medium term placements and will require you to register with Ofsted.

In this role, you will develop and lead a passionate team of children’s home care staff, to outstanding practice and lead culture change and deliver the objectives of a residential children’s home using a therapeutic approach.

 

About your role as Children’s Residential Registered Manager:

  • Support the Residential Lead and lead a team of staff ensuring that children and young people are well cared for and are making progress
  • Supporting with the Ofsted improvement agenda through leading/delegating responsibilities to support effective long-term change
  • Compliance including extensive knowledge of the regulations
  • Process management including staffing rota system, interim staff management during staff absence, staff supervisions, training and case file audits for children
  • Supporting of recruitment and retention of staff – new service being established.
  • Leadership/behavioural change to align with routines and patterns to benefit the young people in the unit
  • Staff development including action plans, training sessions & materials, resource allocation, impact risk assessments for changes made

 

Your required experience as Children’s Residential Registered Manager

  • You will be an established senior leader with recent experience in a children’s residential setting as a registered manager
  • Proven success as a Children’s Residential Home Manager/Deputy Manager
  • Experience supporting children and young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties and complex needs
  • Understanding of the Children’s Home Regulations & Inspection Framework
  • Experience of managing a team/supervising staff
  • Experience of working with partners
  • Minimum Level 3 Health & Social Care Children & Young People or equivalent. You will be required to complete the Level 5 in Leadership & management if not already achieved
  • Experience of setting up a new children’s home
  • Experience of managing more than one children’s home
  • You will be required to be part of an on-call rota and depending on service need, you may be required to provide cover for our other homes
  • 2 years of references
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Valid driving license and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential
