Interim Registered Building Inspector – Class 2A-F / 2A-D
Rate: £70–£80 per hour (depending on experience and registration class)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
6 months rolling contract
Location: On-site (up to 35 hours per week, part-time options available)

Reporting into the Assistant Director of Building Control, you will be joining the team during a period of growth and transformation. This is a key role supporting compliance, safety, and quality across a diverse range of residential and commercial developments.

Particularly interested in candidates registered under Class 2A-F, though they are open to considering professionals with Class 2A-D and above under the Building Safety Regulator framework.

About the Registered Building Inspector role:

  • Undertake plan assessments and site inspections across a mix of residential and commercial projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with Building Regulations and current legislation.
  • Adhere to the Operational Standard Rules (OSR)and maintain accurate inspection records.
  • Provide clear, practical technical advice to contractors, developers, and internal teams.
  • Support enforcement and general building surveying duties as required.

Your previous experience as a Registered Building Inspector:

  • Registered under Class 2A-F (or higher) with the Building Safety Regulator.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Building Control, ideally within a Local Authority or Approved Inspector setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of England Building Regulations and associated legislation.
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational and reporting skills.
  • Able to manage your own workload and work independently.
  • Must have access to a suitable vehicle for site visits and official Council business.

This is a flexible opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from domestic extensions to major commercial developments, while contributing to a high-performing Building Control team.
