This Property Partner position reports into the Asset Strategy Manager and offers the chance to act as the key link between operational services and property teams, driving performance, rationalisation and cost-effective service delivery. With line management responsibility for Property Managers and exposure to high-profile acquisitions, disposals and development projects, this is an excellent opportunity to take your career to the next level.

The council is undergoing significant transformation across its property, housing, and regeneration teams. Coming into the Property Team now puts you right at the heart of modernising how local authority assets are managed, giving you fantastic visibility for future senior leadership opportunities.

Your Role as Property Partner:

  • Lead the development of Service Asset Management Plans, translating strategic objectives into effective property solutions
    • Drive portfolio performance through asset rationalisation, cost reduction and improved utilisation of property assets
    • Deliver a range of complex property transactions including acquisitions, freehold and leasehold disposals, and development advice
    • Build strong relationships with stakeholders, public sector partners and service leaders to support collaborative asset strategies
    • Provide leadership, technical expertise and professional property advice while managing and developing Property Managers

Your Previous Experience as Property Partner:

  • RICS qualified with significant experience in proactive property estate management within a large and complex organisation
    • Strong negotiation, advocacy and stakeholder management skills with a proven ability to complete challenging property transactions
    • Experience applying innovative and analytical approaches to solve complex property and business challenges
    • Proven ability to lead teams, supervise technical professionals and represent an organisation in legal, public or stakeholder settings
    • Strong understanding of the regional economy, property market, public sector asset management and the operational environment of local government

This role will suit an ambitious property professional who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with delivery.

You will be comfortable influencing senior stakeholders, challenging existing asset use, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions that support long-term organisational objectives.
