Reporting into the PMO and Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Housing Programme and Housing Inspection Readiness work.

About the Programme Manager role:

  • Accountable for the successful delivery and ongoing monitoring of core strategic programmes within a portfolio of change.
  • Focuses on achieving programme objectives, managing programme-level risks and issues, and ensuring benefits are clearly owned, measured, and tracked.
  • Works closely with cross-functional senior stakeholders to promote strong governance across programmes.
  • Ensures programme information is clear, accurate, and transparent to support effective decision-making.
  • Supports critical programmes that enable the council to meet its statutory housing duties.
  • Applies a structured programme approach to manage dependencies, risks, and issues, ensuring timely escalation where required.

Your previous experience as a Programme Manager:

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale organisational redesign or service transformation, ideally within housing or public sector environments.
  • Strong programme and project management skills, with a track record of implementing operating model changes.
  • In-depth understanding of housing inspection readiness work
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, compelling reports and presentations for senior audiences.
