Reporting into Director for Property and Projects you will be responsible Lead the delivery of a large-scale, complex, non-residential development project, ensuring completion of RIBA Stage 3 and a full business case for the Council’s HQ redevelopment.

About the Project Director role:

  • Manage stakeholders and collaborate with the Director – Property and Projects to drive project progress.
  • Implement robust project management processes, ensuring effective risk management and collaboration.
  • Oversee procurement and management of the design team and professional services to support project delivery.
  • Manage contracts with consultants and external partners, ensuring value for money and successful project outcomes.
  • Represent the Council at public meetings, consultations, and exhibitions related to the project.
  • Leverage digital tools and modern working practices to enhance efficiency and eliminate paper-based processes.

Your previous experience as Project Director:

  • Proven track record in managing and delivering large-scale, non-residential development projects from inception to completion.
  • Experience in commissioning and contracting external partnerships to align with strategic and operational objectives.
  • Expertise in managing refurbishment or regeneration projects, ideally involving town halls or listed buildings.
  • Strong understanding of local authorities, their services, and governance structures.
  • Knowledge of sustainability principles in development projects, ensuring environmental and financial viability.
