£500-£550 per day (Outside IR35)

Reporting into the Head of Projects you will provide consultancy services to establish a Project Management Office for the councils Capital Programme. This includes overseeing a £200m programme for 2025/26, which is focused on transformational projects aimed at redesigning services, implementing new technology, and improving outcomes for the city.
 
Your Role as Programme Lead Capital Projects;

• Establishing PMO Governance: Implementing governance structures, reporting mechanisms, and assurance processes for the Capital Programme.
• Auditing Current Projects: Reviewing existing capital projects to assess alignment with PMO methodology, identifying risks, issues, and gaps, and recommending improvements.
• Aligning In-flight Projects: Ensuring all ongoing projects comply with PMO standards and prioritizing activities for successful delivery.
• Resource Planning: Recommending a resource plan to support the ongoing assurance of project delivery.
• Assurance of Capital Programme Delivery: Providing overall assurance on the delivery of the Capital Programme and supporting the PMO team with effective methodologies.
• Handover of Deliverables: Ensuring a smooth transition and high-quality handover of PMO activities to the team at the end of the contract.

Your previous experience as Programme Lead Capital Projects;

• Governance and Operations Document for Capital Programme delivery.
• Auditing Report and Recommendations for all capital projects.
• Project/Programme Plans to support successful delivery.
• Establishing Capital Programme Governance and ensuring projects follow PMO methodology.
• Managing Project Risks, Issues, and Dependencies effectively.
• Providing Audit and Status Reporting for capital projects.
