Initial 6 interim contract with scope to extend up to 12 months

Baltimore Consulting is proud to be partnering with a South West Local Authority to appoint an Interim Family Hubs Improvement Lead to support their Children’s Social Care service. This role offers a unique opportunity to drive forward service improvement and transformation as part of the national Family Hubs reform programme.

Your role as the Family Hubs Improvement Lead:

  • Reporting directly to the Service Director of Children’s Social Care, you will lead on the continued improvement and transformation of the Family Hubs offer, aligning services with national reform priorities and strengthening early help provision.
  • Lead the local authority’s improvement of existing Family Hubs, in line with national social care reforms.
  • Provide operational oversight and direction to a team of three Team Managers within the Family Hubs service.
  • Develop and expand the local Early Help offer, ensuring integrated delivery of services for children, young people, and families.
  • Review current Family Hub operations, promoting collaborative working across key interfaces such as MASH, Front Door, and Assessment services.
  • Build on a stable and high-performing service, with a particular focus on innovation and enhancement, as the Early Help offer is already rated ‘Outstanding’.
  • Be flexible and willing to travel to Family Hub sites across the county as required.

Your experience as a Family Hubs Improvement Lead:

  • Proven experience leading the development or implementation of Family Hubs within a local authority setting.
  • Strong background in Early Help, with up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Current Enhanced DBS.
  • Able to provide references covering the last three years of employment.
