£500–£550 per day
Inside IR35 (via umbrella)

Reporting into the Assistant Director, you will lead large, high‑performing teams through a major period of transformation within this local authority. You will play a pivotal role in shaping a relationship‑based, locality‑driven model of support by integrating Family Help, Family Safeguarding and Adolescent Safeguarding services. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation, strengthen practice, and lead the transition to a new locality structure that improves outcomes for children, young people and families.

Your Role as Head of Service Early Help
• Lead the integration of Family Help, Family Safeguarding and Adolescent Safeguarding services
• Oversee the transition to a locality model with accessible, place‑based support
• Embed high‑quality, strengths‑based and trauma‑informed practice
• Drive performance, quality assurance and inspection readiness
• Strengthen partnerships with Early Help, Police, Health, Education and community services
• Provide confident senior leadership across practice, including participation in the out‑of‑hours leadership rota

Your Role as Head of Service Early Help
• Significant senior leadership experience within Children’s Social Care
• Strong expertise in safeguarding, risk management and complex decision‑making
• A passion for early intervention, relational practice and strengths‑based approaches
• Experience of driving improvement, innovation and workforce stability
• Ability to lead confidently in times of transformation and organisational change
