Are you a visionary leader with a passion for inclusive education and a proven track record in SEND strategy and service delivery? As the Head of SEND, where you’ll shape the future of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities provision across the borough.
 
As Head of SEND, you will lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND. Reporting directly to the Directors, you will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and continuous improvement of our SEND services.
 
 
Your role as Head of SEND:
 

• Provide strategic leadership across all SEND services, ensuring alignment with national legislation and local priorities
• Oversee the delivery of statutory responsibilities under the Children and Families Act 2014 and the SEND Code of Practice
• Lead on service transformation, driving innovation and best practice in SEND provision
• Manage budgets effectively, ensuring value for money and high-quality outcomes
• Build strong partnerships with schools, health services, voluntary organisations, and families
• Champion inclusion and equity, ensuring the voice of children and families is central to service design and delivery
• Report regularly to the Directors and elected members, providing expert advice and performance updates
