£650–£700 per day
Inside IR35 (via umbrella)

If you are at your best when you are visible, hands‑on and fixing the issues that matter most to residents, this is a role you will want to move fast on. As Interim Head of Repairs and Maintenance, you will step into a critical leadership gap, stabilising and driving performance across a pressured repairs service with a clear focus on quality, safety and resident outcomes.

Reporting into the Director, you will take ownership of responsive repairs, damp and mould (including Category 1 hazards), voids and disrepair. This is a highly operational role where presence matters – you will be out on site, seeing issues first‑hand, challenging standards and supporting teams to get things right. The service has recently lost a post‑holder on a fixed‑term contract, and this interim appointment is key to restoring confidence and grip while a permanent solution is explored.

Your role as Interim Head of Repairs and Maintenance:-

• Lead responsive repairs, ensuring safe, timely and resident‑focused delivery
• Take firm ownership of damp and mould, including Category 1 hazard removal
• Drive performance across voids to minimise turnaround times
• Manage and resolve disrepair cases with a strong risk and compliance lens
• Be highly visible on site, engaging teams and inspecting works regularly

 

Your previous experience as an Interim Head of Repairs and Maintenance:-

• Proven leadership of a housing repairs and maintenance service
• Strong background working with a DLO or having led one previously
• Hands‑on experience dealing with damp, mould and disrepair at scale
• Confident operating in fast‑paced, pressured environments
• Demonstrable on‑site leadership presence and stakeholder management
