Baltimore Consulting are partnered with a London Local Authority who are looking for a Head of Facilities Management to support on an interim basis. As the Head of Facilities Management, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and delivery of the Council’s workplace and facilities strategy, supporting the Director of Property & Assets in driving continuous improvement across Facilities Management, Audio Visual, and Energy services.
 
About the Head of Facilities Management role:

• Lead the development and implementation of the Council’s workplace strategy, aligned with corporate accommodation and asset management plans.
• Oversee strategic planning, governance, and delivery of FM, AV, and energy services across a property portfolio valued at over £500m.
• Drive transformation initiatives to improve workspace efficiency, reduce costs, and modernise office environments.
• Commission and manage internal and external technical resources to support delivery.
• Provide strategic advice and performance reporting to senior stakeholders, including elected members and external partners.
• Support income generation and capital investment planning, with oversight of a £6.75m annual revenue budget and a £4.5m capital programme.

Your previous experience as a Head of Service for Facilities Management:

• Proven experience leading large-scale property or facilities programmes within public sector environments.
• Strong understanding of workplace strategy, asset optimisation, and compliance frameworks.
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement across diverse groups including internal teams, contractors, and external partners.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, deliver change projects, and produce clear, actionable reports.
• Experience in delivering Hard and Soft FM services, energy management, and AV solutions.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of supporting cross-cutting corporate initiatives.
