New Interim Opportunity – Head of Corporate Parenting (London – Hybrid)
I’m currently recruiting for an exciting interim opportunity within a Local Authority in London, and wanted to reach out to see if this could be of interest to you—or perhaps someone in your network.
An experienced Head of Corporate Parenting is needed to cover a period of maternity leave. This is a vital strategic role, requiring a proven leader with a strong track record in services for Cared for Children, Care Leavers, Fostering, and Kinship Care.
Key Details:

  • Job Title: Head of Corporate Parenting
  • Contract Length: 3 month initial interim contract
  • Location: London – Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)
  • Day Rate: £600 per day (via umbrella) – open to negotiation
  • IR35 Status: Inside IR35
  • Interview Format: Microsoft Teams – interviews taking place in the coming weeks
  • Start Date: ASAP

Role Overview:
As the Head of Corporate Parenting, you will:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across Fostering, Kinship Care, and Care Leavers services.
  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategic plans to enhance service delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practice across foster care, child development, and wraparound services.
  • Maintain high standards of recording, quality assurance, and performance monitoring.
  • Work collaboratively with internal leaders and external partners to support integrated services for children and families.
  • Motivate and lead teams with a clear focus on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Qualified social worker with current SWE registration.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience as a Head of Service (or above) in corporate parenting services.
  • Strong track record in service improvement, quality assurance, and partnership engagement.
  • Deep understanding of what “Good” looks like, with the ability to drive improvement and deliver results.
  • Skilled in leading teams through periods of change and high demand.
  • Enhanced DBS in place (or willingness to undertake a new one).
  • Able to provide references covering the last 5 years.
