Hybrid (Initial 3 days onsite ) Full time position
Initial interim 3-6 month contract with scope for extension
£500-£550 per day (umbrella) scope for negotiation

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Child Protection, CIN, Children Looked After and Permanency to cover long term need whilst the team looks to appoint a new permanent postholder.
Reporting to the Assistant Director Childrens Social Care this role will play a key lead in Ofsted readiness and driving forward permanency for young people.)
About your role as Head of Child Protection, CIN, Children Looked After and Permanency:
- To provide strategic and service leadership within the Children’s Integrated Services Division.
- Specifically ensuring high levels of performance within and across the Children’s Social Care service to enable and support forward thinking and innovative frontline service delivery across the Council and with partners.
- Responsible Locality teams covering CIN, CP and CiC and currently covering permanence
- To ensure that the social work service, and child protection meets statutory requirements, is of consistently good quality level and meets Ofsted requirements, and for ensuring that services are effectively targeted at children in need of help and protection, children on the edge of care and children who are looked after.
- This post holder will be the lead officer responsible for the safety and protection of vulnerable children, including services responsible and agreeing accommodation of children through legislative routes, the assessment and review of private fostering arrangements.
Your required experience as Head of Child Protection, CIN, Children Looked After and Permanency:
- More than 2 years’ experience at a minimum in a Head of Services role or higher with clear expertise within the outlined portfolio area
- Active registration with Social Work England
- You will be a leader operating with a high challenge, high support nature and with a demonstrable track record in practice improvement/innovation.
- Available references for most recent 2 year’s roles and Enhanced DBS will be required
