We are currently working with a Local Authority in the South East of England that is seeking to appoint two experienced SEND Case Officers (EHCP Assessment Officers) on an interim 3-month contract.
You will play a critical role in ensuring children and young people with special educational needs receive the support they need through high-quality and legally compliant EHCPs.
 
About the Role:

  • Coordinating the statutory EHC needs assessment process in line with the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Engaging with parents, schools, professionals, and other stakeholders to gather and review reports and evidence.
  • Drafting and finalising EHCPs within statutory timescales.
  • Monitoring outcomes and ensuring provisions are appropriate and effectively implemented.
  • Responding to queries and supporting families throughout the assessment process.

 
Your experience as an EHCP Assessment Officer:

  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a full EHCP Assessment Officer role
  • Strong knowledge of SEND Code of Practice & statutory processes
  • Proven ability to work under high-pressure environments
  • Excellent EHCP plan writing skills
  • High level of empathy and ability to engage effectively with families
