We are working with a local authority in London seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Director of Community Safety, Integrated Enforcement, and Regulatory Services.

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a critical service area, driving the integration of enforcement models and enhancing the safety and well-being of a diverse urban community.

About the Interim Director of Community Safety and Integrated Enforcement role:

  • Lead a comprehensive review of community safety officers, with a strategic focus on increasing enforcement activity and operational impact.
  • Work closely with the Strategic Director of Environment, Sustainability, and Leisure to evaluate and improve the overall effectiveness of community safety initiatives.
  • Ensure frontline officers are equipped with the appropriate training, legal powers, and resources to deliver their roles effectively.
  • Oversee the integration of enforcement and regulatory services to create a cohesive, high-performing department.
  • Provide expert strategic guidance on community safety, public protection, and statutory regulatory requirements.

 
Your Previous Experience as a Director of Community Safety and Integrated Enforcement:

  • Significant experience in building, integrating, and managing complex enforcement and community safety models.
  • Proven track record within a Local Authority or similar public sector environment at a senior leadership level.
  • Expertise in regulatory services, with the ability to navigate complex legal frameworks and statutory duties.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a demonstrated ability to drive organisational change and service improvements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, capable of working effectively with senior executives, elected members, and partner agencies.
