Commissioning Director – Adult Social Care

£800 per day via Umbrella

6-month contract initially
Hybrid working – 2-3 days per week on site (flexible)

We are working in partnership with a forward-thinking Local Authority to recruit a Commissioning Director to lead the vision and execution of adult social care commissioning. With oversight of market shaping, quality assurance, safeguarding, and professional leadership, this role is instrumental in shaping high-quality and sustainable care services for the residents. This is an exciting opportunity to drive service transformation, enhance performance, and deliver person-centred care across the authority.

Your role as Commissioning Director:

• Set and steer the strategic commissioning direction for adult social care across the council.
• Provide executive leadership over collaborative commissioning, market development, and quality assurance frameworks.
• Foster strong partnerships with the NHS and other stakeholders to develop innovative care models and drive system-wide improvement.
• Align commissioning actions with the Council Plan using intelligence, horizon scanning, and policy insight

Your previous experience as a Commissioning Director:

• A visionary leader with demonstrable success in director-level roles overseeing commissioning, transformation, or quality improvement in adult social care
• Strong track record in managing large-scale change initiatives that deliver improved outcomes and demonstrate value for money
• Skilled in leveraging data and business intelligence to inform service planning and delivery.
