This is a unique opportunity to join a small, family-run organisation at the beginning of its journey to become an outstanding children’s home provider. As the Registered Manager, you will lead the opening and registration of a brand-new children’s home, shaping its culture and ethos from the ground up. You’ll have the autonomy to implement your vision, creating a safe, nurturing, and aspirational environment for children and young people.

Your Role as Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home:
• Lead the registration process with Ofsted, including developing the Statement of Purpose and all required policies and procedures
• Recruit, develop, and inspire a skilled staff team capable of delivering high-quality, therapeutic care
• Provide supervision, appraisal, and training opportunities to foster a reflective and ambitious workforce
• Engage with local authorities to promote the home and maintain optimum occupancy levels
• Ensure care plans are outcome-focused, child-centred, and promote emotional, educational, and social development
• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all children and young people, ensuring their voices shape the service
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Lead on all regulatory inspections (Ofsted, Regulation 44/45) and drive continuous improvement
• Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring best value and financial accountability
• Embed a nurturing, inclusive, and aspirational ethos that empowers staff and children

Your Experience as Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home:
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to complete within 18 months)
• Minimum 2 years in a supervisory/management role within a children’s residential setting
• Strong track record in safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and staff development
• In-depth understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and Ofsted inspection framework
• Ability to inspire, lead, and motivate staff
• Financial and resource management skills
• Passionate about making a difference in children’s lives and committed to a child-centred, restorative approach
