An exciting new interim opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in North-West England for a Children’s Commissioning Manager. You will report to the Service Manager for Joint Commissioning and the key focus of this role will be the operational management of commissioning functions for children’s services and lead a working group to manage the review of the Leaving Care Framework.
 
My client will looking to set up interviews Wednesday 25th, with a view to start as soon as possible after that 
 
Job Title:                 Children’s Commissioning Manager
Contract Length:      Initial 3-month interim contract
Location:         North-West England, full-time hybrid, 1 day on site.
Pay rate:        Up to £450 per day through FCSA Umbrella
IR35 Status:              Inside IR35
 
About your duties as the Children’s Commissioning Manager, Children’s Social Care:

  • Working closely with budget holders and service leads and other key stakeholders to manage programmes of commissioning activity
  • Undertake needs assessments, develop service specifications, produce business cases and to implement commissioning activity on time and within budget
  • Provide reports on commissioning activity that include recommendations for action.
  • Lead a working group to manage the review of the Leaving Care Framework.
  • To assist in the joint commissioning of services with health partners, other Council Directorates, independent and voluntary sectors to ensure a “whole systems” approach to service development.
  • To work with others to monitor and evaluate services and their performance against specific outcomes and objectives to achieve the best possible standards of service and value for money.

 
 
Your experience needed as the Children’s Commissioning Manager, Children’s Social Care:

  • Health and Social Care degree or similar
  • Must be an experienced Commissioning Manager in Children’s Services, with a proven track record, to provide strong commercial leadership and direction
  • Experience working with Leaving Care teams in a commissioning capacity.
  • Level 5 qualification or higher in a relevant discipline or similar evidence relevant to the skills and ability to do the job
  • Experience in training and developing staff members
