The Business Manager will play a pivotal role in supporting the Complex Needs South East Regional Care Cooperative Test and Learn project, funded by the Department for Education. Acting as a key link between local authorities, health partners, and other stakeholders, the Business Manager will ensure that financial, operational, and governance arrangements are effectively managed. Their responsibilities will include overseeing project budgets, coordinating multi-agency contributions, and monitoring the cost-effectiveness of proposed placement and care models. By providing strong business oversight and ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently, the Business Manager will help shape a sustainable framework for integrated assessment, commissioning, and delivery. This role is essential in ensuring that children with the most complex needs receive the right care in the right setting, while also reducing pressures on local authorities and health partners through more collaborative and cost-effective approaches.

About your duties as the Business Manager:

  • Manage project budgets, financial reporting, and funding compliance.
  • Coordinate input and collaboration across local authorities, health partners, and other agencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of care models.
  • Support governance structures and ensure accountability across the programme.
  • Develop business processes to support integrated assessment, commissioning, and delivery.
  • Produce reports, briefings, and analysis to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee data collection and performance monitoring to track outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and sustainability within the model.

Your experience needed as the Business Manager:

  • Strong financial and budget management skills.
  • Experience of project management in a multi-agency or public sector context.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence across health, social care, and education partners.
  • Analytical skills to assess cost-effectiveness and service outcomes.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing abilities.
  • Knowledge of commissioning and service delivery models within children’s services or health.
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and deliver results.
