This is an exciting opportunity, reporting to the Principal Surveyor, you will join a progressive Building Control team responsible for ensuring statutory compliance and the safe delivery of a wide variety of construction projects.

This role offers the opportunity to work across complex schemes while developing your professional expertise within a supportive environment, where you will be working across 2 Boroughs.

About the Building Control Surveyor Role:

• Manage a diverse caseload of 2F-level applications, carrying out plan checks, site inspections, and technical assessments.
• Provide guidance on compliance with the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Act, and Building Regulations.
• Inspect works on-site across residential, mixed-use, and regeneration projects.
• Work collaboratively with developers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve compliance challenges.
• Contribute to the council’s commitment to high-quality, safe, and sustainable building development.

 
Your previous experience as a Building Control Surveyor:

• Experience delivering building control services on a range of construction projects.
• Working knowledge of 2F schemes and relevant building regulations.
• Full or working towards professional membership with RICS, CABE, CIOB, or equivalent.
• Strong technical understanding of compliance, fire safety, and construction methods.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

 
Salary is inclusive of £7500 market supplement; you will also receive a golden hello for years in service. Other benefits include Local Authority pension, employers’ contribution and partnership with loyalty scheme with money off selected retailers.
