Hybrid (Initial 3 days onsite ) Full time position
Initial interim 3-6 month contract with scope for extension
£700-£750 per day (umbrella) scope for negotiation

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Assistant Director focussing on Integrated Front Door, Youth Justice, Intervention, Family Help & Quality Assurance

Reporting to the Executive Director for Childrens services this role will play a key lead in partnership development and preparation for Ofsted readiness ahead of the start of a substantive post holder.

About your role as Assistant Director Childrens Services:

• A key senior leadership position instrumental in influencing and shaping a core part of the council’s Children’s Integrated Services Division.
• You’ll lead the strategic development and operational delivery of services across IFD, Family Help, Safeguarding, Youth Justice and Quality Assurance
• Working closely with elected members, the Corporate Director, and local partners to deliver the council’s improvement and recovery ambitions.
• Your leadership will foster innovation, build resilience, and ensure inclusion, partnership, and quality remain at the centre of everything we do.

Your required experience as Assistant Director Childrens Services:

• More than 2 years’ experience at a minimum at Assistant Director level within Children’s Services
• Qualified and registered social worker, probation officer, or Youth Justice qualification at degree level
• You will be a leader operating with a high challenge, high support nature and with a demonstrable track record in practice improvement/innovation.
• Available references for most recent 5 year’s roles and Enhanced DBS will be required
