Baltimore Consulting are seeking an experienced Specialist Advisory Teacher to join the SEND Advisory & Training Service (SENDATs). This role has arisen due to staff absence and provides an opportunity for an immediate start supporting schools across the borough.
The service is currently re-focusing its priorities, moving away from working solely with children and young people with EHCPs towards a more flexible, early intervention model. The postholder will work independently across primary and secondary schools, providing specialist advice and modelling strategies to improve the inclusion of learners with SEND.

Your Role as a Specialist Advisory Teacher:

  • Provide specialist advice, support, and training to schools around Autism and Social Communication needs.
  • Deliver effective early intervention strategies, supporting teachers and SENCOs to improve inclusion.
  • Work flexibly across schools, managing your own diary and visiting multiple settings each week.
  • Model best practice strategies to teaching and support staff.
  • Collaborate with school leaders, SENCOs, and external partners to improve outcomes for learners with SEND.
  • Contribute to the wider development of SENDATs, supporting the shift towards early intervention.

Your Experience as a Specialist Advisory Teacher:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial classroom experience across phases.
  • Strong expertise in Autism, Social Communication needs, and related co-occurring conditions.
  • Previous Advisory Teacher experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based interventions and strategies for supporting learners with SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, mentor, and influence staff.
  • Highly self-motivated, organised, and able to work independently across multiple schools.
