The Positivity Files: Top Tips From Charmaine Vincent

We know it can be immensely difficult to maintain positivity throughout such unprecedented times, and now with a second lockdown looming, it’s going to be more difficult than ever before.

However, in celebration of World Kindness Day this month, we have decided to use our platform to spread kindness and positivity throughout November and beyond.

Being kind not only directly impacts others, but it has a positive impact on yourself as well.

World Kindness Day on 13th November was created to inspire people to create a kinder world, whether that be through random acts of kindness, pledging a good deed or posting quotes.

We’ve been working hard to create a positive space throughout these unprecedented times so what better time for us to promote kindness in all its forms!

So we thought, who better to start with than our CEO, Charmaine Vincent? Check out her top tips on how to maintain positivity through lockdown and beyond:

Learn to love and appreciate all you have, don’t concentrate negative energy on what you don’t.

Surround yourself with good people that will help you become the best version of yourself

Write down one thing a day that you’re grateful for.

Share your positive experiences with others. Sharing is caring and it promotes positive mental attitude.

Give a genuine compliment to a colleague, friend, family member – make others feel special.

Share a smile when passing a stranger in the street or be the first to smile and say good morning on your daily zoom / virtual meeting

Check in often – Reach out to someone that may need support and use positive language and kind words to remind them about their worth.

Find the gift in every situation

Protect Your Emotions – You cannot spread positivity if you’re in a fearful mindset.

Stepping away from technology and news headlines (when needed) can give you space from the outside chaos in these uncertain times.

Months of lockdown and loss have had such a huge impact on all of us here at Baltimore Consulting and beyond, and prioritising positivity and our mental health has never been so important. We’ve always put a huge emphasis on our employees mental health and wellbeing – it’s part of our DNA. We are also continually signposting appropriate support, from our work with Bristol Mind.

Making just one positive change can be so difficult, especially during times of such uncertainty – we all need to look after our mental health and wellbeing, whether we suffer with mental health problems or not.
