You will be stepping into a high‑impact Commissioning Project Manager – Youth Services role at a critical point of review and improvement. Reporting into a senior leadership sponsor, you will lead a focused, evidence‑driven piece of work that will directly influence future strategy, commissioning decisions and investment priorities. This is a fast‑paced assignment where your insight will shape how youth services are planned, targeted and delivered.  

As Commissioning Project Manager – Youth Services, you will take ownership of a city‑wide mapping and sufficiency assessment, pulling together complex data, translating insight into clear findings and producing outputs that will be used immediately by decision‑makers. With a short contract and clear deliverables, this Youth Provision Mapping Consultant role offers pace, visibility and real influence from day one.  

Your role as Commissioning Project Manager – Youth Services:

  • Map existing youth provision at ward level across open access, targeted, SEND and wellbeing services
  • Analyse demographic, deprivation and demand data to identify pressure points and inequalities
  • Assess sufficiency and gaps in provision, aligning findings with statutory youth service guidance
  • Evaluate access barriers including transport, affordability, awareness and physical accessibility
  • Produce a clear, decision‑ready report to inform strategy, commissioning and place‑based planning

This Commissioning Project Manager – Youth Services position is ideal if you enjoy turning complex information into practical insight and want your work to have immediate strategic impact.  

Your previous experience as Commissioning Project Manager – Youth Services:

  • Proven experience delivering youth service mapping, needs assessments or sufficiency reviews
  • Strong analytical capability, combining quantitative data with service intelligence
  • Local authority experience, with an understanding of statutory youth service duties
  • Confidence engaging with providers and stakeholders to validate findings
  • Ability to deliver high‑quality outputs to tight timescales
