As Estates Operations Manager, you will report into a senior estates lead and take full operational ownership of a complex acute estate, managing large multidisciplinary teams, specialist contractors and significant operational budgets. This is a hands‑on, visible leadership role where decisions matter and impact is immediate.

You will be accountable for the day‑to‑day performance, safety and statutory compliance of all building, engineering and infrastructure systems across site. From emergency response to long‑term operational planning, you’ll set standards, challenge performance and drive continuous improvement in a highly regulated environment. Your role as Estates Operations Manager:
• Operational leadership of estates maintenance, engineering systems and infrastructure
• Direct and indirect workforce management, driving performance and service reliability
• Statutory compliance ownership, including HTMs, HSE, asbestos and water safety
• Budget control and efficiency delivery, supporting cost improvement targets
• Authorised Person responsibilities across specialist technical disciplines

Your previous experience as an Estates Operations Manager:
• Proven experience leading operational estates services within complex healthcare or similarly regulated environments
• Strong background in engineering and building systems, including compliance frameworks
• Demonstrable success managing large teams, contractors and performance KPIs
• Experience controlling revenue budgets, delivering efficiencies and service improvements
• Confidence operating at senior level, advising leaders and managing operational risk

In this role, you’ll balance immediate operational pressures with longer‑term estates strategy, ensuring assets are safe, resilient and fit for purpose. You’ll work closely with clinical teams, senior managers and capital colleagues, acting as the senior operational voice on estates matters and leading the response to incidents, audits and inspections. Your leadership will set the tone for safety culture, service quality and continuous improvement.
