As a Child Protection Advisor, you will sit at the heart of quality assurance and safeguarding scrutiny, reporting directly into a Service Manager and acting as a critical voice in decision‑making for children subject to protection and contextual safeguarding plans. This is a role where your professional judgement matters, your influence is felt across multi‑agency partners, and your work directly improves practice and outcomes for children and families.

Your role as a Child Protection Advisor:

  • Chairing Child Protection Conferences and Contextual Safeguarding Child in Need meetings
  • Providing robust scrutiny of assessments, plans and decision‑making
  • Leading quality assurance, audits and feedback to drive service improvement
  • Offering expert consultation and constructive challenge to social work teams
  • Ensuring children’s voices, wishes and feelings are central to all planning

Your previous experience as a Child Protection Advisor:

  • Social Work qualification with active Social Work England registration
  • Substantial post‑qualification experience within statutory children’s services
  • Proven confidence chairing complex multi‑agency meetings
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation, guidance and best practice
    Ability to influence, challenge and support practice at a senior professional level
