As a Senior Schools HR Business Partner, you will be the driving force behind a high‑quality HR advisory offer, working closely with senior leaders across the local authority, school stakeholders, and governance groups. You’ll operate with autonomy, influence strategic decisions, and support organisational transformation that directly improves outcomes for staff and students.

You’ll report into the HR Business Lead and take responsibility for leading and developing HR Advisors (1–6 depending on demand), delivering an exceptional service that aligns with evolving workforce needs. With significant visibility and influence, you’ll support senior recruitment, workforce strategy, organisational redesign and complex ER casework — all while championing the equality, diversity and inclusion agenda across the organisation.

Your Role as Senior Schools HR Business Partner:
  • Strategic HR Leadership – drive the HR/EDI agenda and provide expert guidance to leaders.
  • Workforce Planning – shape a sustainable, future‑ready workforce across varied stakeholder groups.
  • Service Delivery – oversee HR advisory services, ensuring high‑quality, compliant and value‑added support.
  • Complex Case Management – lead on ER, conflict resolution and risk‑balanced decision‑making.
  • Change & Transformation – enable organisational redesign and embed modern HR practice.
Your Previous Experience as Senior Schools HR Business Partner:
  • Extensive HR/EDI Knowledge – strong understanding of legislation, case law and best practice.
  • Stakeholder Influence – proven ability to navigate senior leaders, trade unions and external partners.
  • Leadership & Coaching – experience motivating, developing and guiding HR colleagues.
  • Change Management Expertise – skilled at leading organisational change and delivering sustainable HR solutions, preferably within a local authority setting
  • EDI Championing – evidence of driving inclusion and improving workforce outcomes
