As the Children’s Strategic Transformation and Commissioning Manager, you’ll report directly to the Head of Strategic Commissioning and Transformation and lead a small but influential team delivering large‑scale change.
You’ll drive critical transformation programmes, oversee commissioning strategy, and shape a system that truly reflects the voices and needs of children, young people, and families. If you want a role where your leadership leads to meaningful, measurable change—this is it.
Your Role as Children’s Strategic Transformation and Commissioning Manager:
• Lead major transformation programmes aligned to strategic priorities and local needs
• Develop and deliver commissioning strategies and full commissioning cycles (specifications, procurement & contract management)
• Undertake needs assessments & gap analyses to drive evidence‑based decisions
• Drive market shaping & provider development to ensure high‑quality, sustainable services
• Lead multi‑agency, relational commissioning approaches fostering trust‑based partnerships and co‑production
Your Experience as a Children’s Strategic Transformation and Commissioning Manager:
• Strong background in strategic planning, programme leadership and performance monitoring
• Proven ability to embed participation and feedback mechanisms involving children, young people and families
• Skilled in governance, reporting, compliance and safeguarding requirements
• Experienced delivering service redesign, innovation and continuous improvement
• Proven capability to lead service reviews and transformation projects delivering improved quality, efficiency and outcomes
