A London based Local Authority is seeking a Strategic Asset Manager to support a major commercial improvement programme. This role is focused on driving strategic change, maximising the value of the estate, and embedding a more commercial, data‑driven approach across services.

The client is seeking someone who can demonstrate real commercial impact, generating efficiency’s, identifying savings, and reshaping how assets support front‑line services.
About the Strategic Asset Manager (Transformation) role:
• Lead a strategic review of the council’s asset portfolio, identifying opportunities for improved utilisation, rationalisation, or commercialisation.
• Develop and deliver a transformation plan aligned to service needs, corporate priorities, and long-term financial sustainability.
• Provide expert strategic guidance on estate planning, investment decisions, and savings opportunities.
• Produce high‑quality business cases, options appraisals, and financial modelling to support decision‑making.
• Oversee the implementation of commercial improvement work streams, ensuring measurable progress against savings targets.
• Act as a senior advisor in a period of organisational change, supporting cultural shift and challenging legacy ways of working.
Your experience as a Strategic Asset Manager:
• Strong background in Local Government asset management and estate transformation.
• Proven track record of delivering commercial savings, generating revenue, or driving financial efficiency’s within an asset portfolio.
• Strategic thinker with experience working directly with service leads, operational managers, and senior stakeholders.
• Ability to challenge constructively, influence across departments, and introduce new commercial approaches.
• Experience developing and delivering asset strategies, transformation plans, or complex estates programmes.
• Excellent communication, financial acumen, and the credibility to lead change.
