Interim Systems & Transactional Accountant

We are seeking to appoint an experienced Interim Systems & Transactional Accountant to provide critical support during a planned closedown period and to ensure a smooth handover to the successful permanent postholder.
 
This is a key role within the Finance function, with responsibility for maintaining business continuity, overseeing transactional activity, and leading the effective operation of the organisation’s financial systems.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the administration, operation and ongoing development of the TechnologyOne (T1) Financial Management System (FMS)
  • Manage and oversee a small Transactional Finance team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions
  • Provide technical expertise, guidance and training to finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels
  • Support system stability, process improvement and knowledge transfer during the transition period
     

Essential Requirements

  • AAT qualified or part-qualified CCAB accountant
  • Significant hands-on experience of TechnologyOne (T1) within a local government environment (essential)
  • Proven experience in systems-based finance roles and transactional finance management
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly
     

Working Arrangements

  • Interim contract: up to six months
  • Flexible working arrangements, including remote working where regular on-site attendance is impractical
