Job Title: Associate Director of Financial Management, Revenues, Benefits & Debt Management Services
Location: West Midlands
Rate: £850 per day
Hybrid Working: Flexible onsite presence

Role Purpose:
We are seeking a senior finance leader to provide strategic and operational oversight of financial management, revenues, benefits, and debt management services. The role ensures strong financial stewardship, statutory compliance, and high-quality, customer-focused delivery, while contributing to organisational transformation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial management, revenues, benefits, and debt services, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and improved income collection.
  • Deliver sustainable financial planning, robust budget control, and high-quality advice to senior leaders.
  • Implement a modern financial operating model, embracing digital solutions and process redesign.
  • Fulfil statutory duties as Deputy Section 151 Officer.
  • Support corporate leadership, transformation, and workforce development.
  • Champion value for money, transparency, and ethical standards.
  • Build strong partnerships with senior leaders, Members, and external stakeholders.
  • Manage budgets, performance, risk, and compliance, including health and safety responsibilities.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience
  • CCAB and/or CIMA qualified
  • Senior leadership experience in a large, complex organisation (local government preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of local authority finance, revenues, benefits, and debt management
  • Proven experience in financial planning, service transformation, and governance
