Reporting into the Head of Workplace, you will be an experienced Project Manager, brought in to manage and deliver key workplace change and relocation projects across the council’s corporate estate. This role is critical to ensuring smooth transitions and delivering high-quality outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.

About the Project Manager role:

  • Leading the delivery of assigned workplace and relocation projects, ensuring completion on time, within budget, and to agreed standards.
  • Working closely with Property, FM, IT, HR, and service departments to meet operational and strategic goals.
  • Managing project governance, risk, and reporting processes, providing regular updates to senior stakeholders.
  • Coordinating contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure compliance and seamless delivery.
  • Supporting staff engagement and communication plans during workplace change.
  • Embedding principles of inclusivity, sustainability, and health & safety throughout all project activities.

 
Your previous experience as a Project Manager:

  • Strong project management skills, ideally within workplace, FM, or property-related environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Proven experience delivering refurbishment, relocation, or workplace transformation projects.
  • Understanding of health, safety, and compliance in a corporate property context.
  • Experience working within local government or a large, complex organisation.
  • A structured and proactive approach to managing risks, budgets, and timelines.
    (Experience within Facilities Management, Property, or Workplace Strategy teams is advantageous but not essential.)
