Assistant EHC Coordinator
3 months initially (Extendable)
Hybrid/Remote – South East England
Up to £220 per day – Inside IR35
 
A local authority I’m supporting is seeking an Assistant EHC Coordinator to support the statutory Education, Health and Care (EHC) needs assessment and review process. This role ensures compliance with statutory timelines and provides a high-quality service to children, young people, and their families.
Key responsibilities:

  • Log and triage requests for EHC assessments and annual reviews
  • Process annual reviews within statutory deadlines
  • Maintain accurate records and update databases
  • Support EHC Coordinators/Managers in preparing cases for decision panels
  • Liaise with families, schools, and partner agencies with professionalism and empathy • Ensure compliance with GDPR and council policies

Essential experience:

  • Knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (0–25) and EHC Plans
  • Experience with assessments and annual reviews
  • Experience in SEN administrative processes and case management systems
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage a large caseload
  • Effective communication skills with families and professionals
  • Empathy and sensitivity when working with children and families
