We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support the migration of NEC Revenues & Benefits System to a cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) model. This role will be central to reviewing existing processes, assessing custom configurations, and shaping future workflows to ensure a smooth and efficient transition.

About the Business Analyst role:
You will be responsible for the analysis, documentation, and redesign of processes associated with the NEC Revenues & Benefits system migration, including:

  • Reviewing the current (“as-is”) solution and establishing a clear operational baseline.
  • Working with IT colleagues to assess existing custom code and determine where NEC standard functionality can replace bespoke developments.
  • Reviewing and mapping new modules introduced as part of the cloud migration.
  • Producing clear, user-friendly process documentation, workflows, process maps and end-to-end designs.
  • Identifying opportunities for service improvement or beneficial change resulting from the transition to SaaS.
  • Creating workflow charts, diagrams, specifications, user stories/use cases, product backlogs, and “to-be” design documents.
  • Building sufficient understanding of IT solution design and implementation to inform viable process options.

Your previous experience as a Business Analyst:
You will bring a strong background in business analysis within local authority, revenues and benefits, or similar complex public-sector environments. Specifically, you will have:

  • Hands-on experience with NEC Revenues & Benefits (formerly Northgate iWorld).
  • Proven experience delivering cloud migration or SaaS transition projects.
  • Strong capability in producing process documentation, workflows, diagrams, and detailed business requirements.
  • A proactive and methodical approach, with the ability to work collaboratively within a project team.
  • Highly desirable experience within Local Authority services and an understanding of customer-centred, end-to-end process design.
  • Experience working within a Local Authority.
