Salary: £50,000 – £53,000 PA + benefits  
 
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Corporate Performance Manager to lead the Performance team and drive excellence across the Council. This is a pivotal role in ensuring that our performance cycle operates effectively at both strategic and departmental levels, aligning Council actions with its ambitions and priorities.
You will develop and maintain robust performance frameworks, provide expert advice to senior leaders and elected members, and deliver insightful reports that support informed decision-making. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how performance is managed and embedded across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement performance monitoring and reporting systems across the Council.
  • Produce regular performance reports and provide expert advice to senior leaders and members.
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of performance frameworks, introducing innovative solutions for data extraction and presentation.
  • Manage the Performance team and oversee strategic and departmental performance cycles.
  • Develop and maintain the Council’s Performance Management Framework and related policies.
  • Reintroduce and sustain Departmental Service Plans to embed performance management at all levels.

About You

  • Qualification in performance, public policy, politics, data or analytical field, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of recent Continuous Professional Development in local government performance management.
  • Proven success in developing strategies and policies that improve performance in a complex public sector environment.
  • Experience in designing and implementing performance frameworks and monitoring arrangements.
  • Ability to operate sensitively in a political environment and build trusted relationships with members and senior officers.
  • Knowledge of data transformation best practice and experience with systems such as iDeagen, Alteryx, and Power BI (desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to present complex data clearly and drive performance improvement.
