Change Manager – SAP Implementation & Digital Transformation

Hybrid (Initial 2-3 days onsite but more flexible through the tenure of the contract)

An exciting new interim opportunity has arisen within a Local Authority in London for an experienced Change Manager to deliver key workstreams in the council’s major digital transformation programme, including the implementation of SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud across Finance, HR, and Payroll.
Key to the role is ensuring successful user adoption, embedding new ways of working, and driving engagement across the organisation with a split focus between:

  • SAP transformation delivery (50%) – leading and supporting change management for the council’s S/4HANA programme, including stakeholder engagement, communication planning, training coordination, and benefits realisation.
  • Digital Services change delivery (50%) – managing change activities across the wider digital portfolio, helping to embed innovative technologies and continuous improvement initiatives across services.

About your duties as the Change Manager – SAP Implementation & Digital Transformation:

  • Develop and deliver change strategies to support SAP and digital transformation projects.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication of goals, impacts, and benefits.
  • Support process redesign and new system adoption across Finance, HR, and Payroll.
  • Coordinate training, readiness, and post go-live support.
  • Monitor and report on change progress and benefits realisation.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers, digital leads, and business stakeholders to embed sustainable change.

 
Your experience needed as the Change Manager – SAP Implementation & Digital Transformation:

  • Proven background as a Change Manager on SAP implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of ERP change impacts across Finance, HR, and Payroll.
  • Experience developing and delivering communications, training, and adoption plans.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Exposure to wider digital or IT transformation projects within large organisations, ideally in the public sector.
  • A confident, proactive communicator who can engage at all levels and deliver change in complex environments.
