£56 per hour, 37 hours per week
Inside IR35 (via umbrella company)

We’re working with a proactive and well-regarded Local Authority in the East Midlands to recruit an experienced Interim Principal Development Management Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a key role, managing complex planning cases and supporting junior officers during a period of transition and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on a varied caseload of planning applications, appeals, and enforcement matters.
• Investigate alleged breaches of planning control and take appropriate action.
• Supervise and mentor junior planning officers, supporting their development and performance.
• Ensure timely processing of submissions in line with national and local targets.
• Champion excellent customer service and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience in development management within a local authority setting.
• Proven ability to manage complex cases and support team members.
• Confident communicator with a collaborative approach.
• Available to start quickly and hit the ground running.
