This small, grassroots organisation is seeking a passionate, imaginative, and resilient Registered Manager to lead its service supporting young people at a pivotal stage in their lives. As they transition from foster care and residential settings toward independence, the service provides a safe, nurturing environment where they can build confidence and essential life skills.

 
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing similar services, with the ability to oversee day-to-day operations, develop staff, and ensure full compliance with safeguarding procedures, support plans, and Ofsted regulations, working toward a rating of Good or Outstanding.

About your role as Children’s Residential Registered Manager:

  • Ensure full compliance with The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
  • Maintain and work toward a Good or Outstanding Ofsted rating
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people
  • Deliver personalised support and involve young people in decision-making
  • Develop and maintain Support Plans and Risk Assessments
  • Lead, support, and supervise the staff team
  • Plan and coordinate activities, trips, and events
  • Conduct staff supervisions and annual performance appraisals
  • Manage the home’s budget and financial records
  • Oversee upkeep and maintenance of the home
  • Complete all mandatory training within the probation period
  • Ensure all staff training is completed within statutory timeframes
  • Report regularly to the Operations Team
  • Maintain active registration with the DBS Update Service

Your required experience as Children’s Residential Registered Manager

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a Registered Manager
  • Proven leadership and team management skills
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Knowledge of The Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Experience in supporting children from diverse backgrounds
  • Must hold or be willing to work towards the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
