I am working with a local authority based in the East Midlands area, who have an immediate requirement for an experienced Interim Resolution & Tribunal Officer to work within the SEN Tribunals team.

3 month initial contract
5 Days per week
£380 – 400 per day (DoE)
Hybrid (1 day per week onsite)
Inside IR35
Start ASAP

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded Local Authority for an experienced Resolution and Tribunal Officer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled professional with a strong background in SEND appeals and tribunal representation to join a committed team making a real difference.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A proven track record working as a Tribunal Officer within a local authority setting.
• Recent experience of appeal management from start to finish, including presenting the LA’s case at hearings.
• A solid understanding of SEND legislation and the SEND Code of Practice.
• Experience in resolution processes including mediation and stakeholder engagement.

The role of the SEND Tribunal Officer is to represent the Council in Tribunal appeals. Responsibilities will include:

• Considering appeals and assessing case merits.
• Drafting the Local Authority’s response to appeals.
• Preparing and collating supporting evidence.
• Liaising with witnesses and representing the Council at final hearings.
• Facilitating mediation where appropriate to resolve disputes.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
• Working closely with parents/carers, legal teams, advocates, and educational settings.
