SEND Case Officer
6–month interim contract
South London Local Authority
£280 p/day (via umbrella, inside IR35)
Hybrid – 2 days on site working required

Reporting into the SEND Service Manager, you will be joining a close-knit team during a period of restructure, where you will help manage caseloads and ensure delivery of high-quality SEND services. This is an opportunity for an experienced SEND Case Officer with proven expertise in Preparing for Adulthood (PFA) and Early Years to make a real impact with minimal supervision.
 
Your role as the SEND Case Officer:

  • Manage a caseload of children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans.
  • Lead on assessments and reviews, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Work closely with families, schools, and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Provide strong input into the assessment process with a clear focus on PFA or Early Years.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Councils SEND priorities during a period of change.

 
Your previous experience as a SEND Case Officer:

  • Demonstrable experience within PFA and/or Early Years SEND work (must be clear on CV).
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong experience in managing assessments and statutory processes.
  • Flexibility to be on-site 2 days per week.
  • Experience across multiple SEND teams.
  • Background as SEN Officer or EHCP Officer.
