Senior Education Project Manager – Schools Improvement Programme 3.5 Month Interim Contract North West England Hybrid (2–3 days/week in office) £475 per day Inside IR35 (via umbrella)

You’ll be leading the development of the 2026 capital improvement programme for primary schools, overseeing a portfolio of 20 projects valued at £4M. These include internal refurbishments, services upgrades, external repairs, and extensions. You’ll also manage one Senior PM and a term consultancy contract.

  Your Role as Senior Project Manager:

  • Review school-led proposals and approve grant payments and Identify and pursue funding opportunities
  • Provide strategic advice on asset management and school responsibilities
  • Liase with planning teams, diocesan bodies, school representatives and engage with stakeholders and produce Cabinet-level recommendations
  • Develop prioritisation methodology based on AMP data and building condition surveys for the 2026 programme
  • Manage consultants in preparing design and tender documentation

  Your previous experience as a Project Manager:

  • Proven track record in delivering education sector projects
  • Professional qualification in the built environment (e.g. architecture, surveying, engineering)
  • Recognised project management accreditation (e.g. RICS)
  • Familiarity with public sector processes, DfE funding, and Building Bulletins
