I am currently working with a Midlands-based local authority to appoint an experienced SEND Transport Contracts Manager for an interim period of 6 months. This is a time of transformation with the local authority and it is essential that they are able to rely on the consistent and streamlined service delivering imperative services to children and young people with special educational transport needs. 

At the heart of delivering a concrete plan we will need the successful candidate to ensure the way they do things, is innovative and cost-effective; in order to drive performance. You will oversee the day-to-day runnings of an SEN and Home-to-School Transport service. You will lead, manage and provide strategic direction to develop and deliver quality transport services centred around Education, Social Services and Public Transport.

In your role as SEND Transport Contracts Manager

• Increase the efficiency and consistency of service delivery

• Accountable for organising and guaranteeing the calibre of the teams working on supplier and contractual management of contracted transport services throughout the city; that transport a high volume of clients daily.
• You must have worked in a similar role and have exemplary knowledge of SEN transport and contract management

• Responsible for the overall transport service financial efficiency, undertaking review and changes of services, to ensure best value to the authority.
• Direct line management responsibility for a medium sized team.
