Assistant Director FM (Facilities Management)

My client is a local authority who are looking for an Assistant Director of Facilities Management (FM) on an interim basis.
The role is both operational and strategic and you will deliver both outcomes for the council's FM service.
The main focus areas of the role are as follows:
  • Lead the successful planning and transition towards the Council's future FM target operating model
  • Lead the strategic client management of the existing TFM contract
  • Lead the development, specification and design of the future operating model for the retained (in the Property Directorate) operational and client FM functions
  • Line manage 4 separate teams

The suitable candidate will have the following skills and experience:
  • FM professional accreditation
  • Senior level leadership (5 plus years) in either the public or private sector FM functions relevant to the scope of the assignment brief
  • Demonstrable commercial experience relevant to the assignment brief
  • Considerable experience of negotiating and influencing senior officers and Councillors
  • Senior level experience of brokering collaborating working relationships and partnerships across sectors
  • Thorough understanding of public sector policy and procurement/commissioning arrangements
